Manchester Network Update
The iSensing sensor network has been live in Manchester for three weeks. The aim of the sensor network is to collect live anonymous data to trend how citizens use the city centre. This data will be used by local Government to improve service delivery and planning.
Did you know that the most visited time in Piccadilly is between 17.00 and 18.00? This is peak commuter time and not surprising. However inbound commuting picks up on a weekday at 7am.
How does GSN Manchester work?
We call our Manchester sensor network the Global Sensor Network Manchester (GSN). The GSN covers key bus, train, metro, road and high density retail footfall areas providing a unique real time and historical view of the city. Our vision is to roll out more GSN cities in the UK.
